9 March 2010 - Despite there being some noise amongst the outisders, Dunquib remains the one for the professional money in the Supreme Novices Hurdle. There is no longer any 6/1 Somersby left for the Arkle, and with Captain Cee Bee many people's idea of the lay of the metting, it would be no surprise were we to see him challenge for favouritism nearer the day. The fact that Ladbrokes are now going 10s Character Building for the William Hill Trophy, against a best-price 14s with the Tote is significant. The Champion Hurdle market is relatively flat with the first four in the market being opposed on Betfair. A number of the smaller concerns are now running for cover vis a vis Any Curency in the William Hill Trophy. In betting on the Coral Cup the thieves continue to niggle away at Mourad and Smoking Aces; they are also at work on Drumbaloo in the Bumper and there is only one instance of 12/1 left. A considered move on Petit Robin for the Ryanair Chase and one would anticiapte that the 14/1 with the Tote will be gone by the close of business. We note Stan James going 16s from 20s Tarotino for the Festival Plate. In the County Hurdle betting market it is anticiapted that the 16s Kandari will be coming under pressure over the next couple of days; whilst we would also forecast a run on the 10s The Betchworth Kid in the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle betting market. And finally, in the betting market on the Grand Annual there has been a move for Fighting Chance, who is currently a best-priced 20/1 in the village.

Denamn is weak in the Gold Cup market; bookmakers are looking to shorten up both Cooldine and Imperial Commander.

13 March 2010. In the Cross Country Chase the 20s Another Jewel has, as anticipated, gone. In the David Nicholson Mares Hurdle the negativity surrounding Quevega continues and Voler La Vedette is the new favourite in most books. The 16s Sway was taken. We have repreatedly reported that in the Neptune Novices Hurdle the horses for money were Quel Esprit and Peddlers Cross; the 5s Quel Esprit has all gone as has the 10s Peddlers Cross.
